Breast lift surgery is known medically as mastopexy. In the typical procedure, Dr. Janssen or Dr. Doubek will make incisions on the underside of your breasts to remove excess skin, reposition nipples and areolas higher and bring your remaining skin around and underneath to close and lift your breasts. If your areolas have sagged and enlarged, they can be reduced during the procedure. And in some cases, women benefit by getting breast implants during their mastopexy to restore fullness and volume.

Mastopexy procedures almost always call for general anesthesia. Surgery can take an hour and a half to three and a half hours to perform.
