The Silhouette InstaLift® is a different type of minimally invasive thread lift to address sagging facial skin. In addition to the dissolvable suture, it uses cones to provide patients with a subtle repositioning of tissue to diminish the appearance of nasolabial folds, jowls, and sagging. The effect is immediate and long lasting. The dissolvable sutures have bi-directional cones that hold the skin in an elevated position, while lifting and projecting simultaneously to contour the face. Results are immediate.
As the small cones slowly dissolve over time, the tissue around them heals, stimulating collagen production, which makes the skin firmer and thicker. This continues to improve over time. The stimulated collagen growth helps to reflate a youthful cheek and lift sagging jowls. The InstaLift sutures dissolve without issue and have an excellent safety profile. The product has FDA clearance for use in the mid-face. See more before and after photos.
For the right candidate, the immediate results with InstaLift can be wonderful. The ideal candidate would be a younger individual experiencing early signs of aging. It is a minimally-invasive solution for men and women who are interested in refreshing their appearance without major surgery or injections. It is considered an alternative to filler because it rejuvenates the face without repeatedly adding volume. It is a good option for patients who do not want the expense and recovery time of an actual facelift.
Suitable candidates have good skin quality with moderate sagging of the skin in the mid-face. Ideal skin should not be too thick, heavy or thin. A Silhouette InstaLift is not recommended for those with more severe signs of aging or excessively loose skin.

An InstaLift procedure generally ranges from $3,000 to $6,000. The actual cost of a Silhouette InstaLift is dependent upon the amount of correction that is required. This can only be determined at a complimentary consultation where they can customize a quote for you.
The procedure takes under an hour, and is done in the office. The provider begins by marking the areas of desired lift on the patient. A local anesthetic of 2% Lido/Epi is used to numb entry and exit points. The provider will then gently insert the 18g needle into the center entry point to a depth of 5mm, guide it through the subcutaneous tissue of the mid-face, and extract it at each bi-directional exit point. The barbed cones grasp, lift, and suspend facial and neck tissues. The provider will push down directly on each cone to ensure anchoring into the fat layer. This is repeated for each suture placement. The provider will check for symmetry and make any final adjustments.
Once satisfied with tissue repositioning, the provider will trim the sutures. The sutures will initially feel tight, but will relax during the recovery phase. The treatment is generally well tolerated by patients. The body heals the area in the new position by laying down collagen and fibrous tissue in the next few months.

Facial Skin Laxity: An InstaLift encourages new fibrous tissue and collagen production to tighten and lift the skin.
Neck & Jawline Definition: An InstaLift suspends facial tissues into a more desirable position for strategic contouring.
What are InstaLift Sutures Made Of?
Silhouette InstaLift sutures are made from glycolide and L-lactide (PLGA), the same polymer that is used in Sculptra® and is well tolerated by the body. The fully resorbable sutures have bi-directional cones; the sutures lift and add volume while the bi-directional cones hold the suture and cheek sub-dermis in an elevated position.
Who is a NOT a Candidate?
InstaLift should not be used in patients with very thin soft tissue of the face in which the implant may be palpable or in patients with heavy skin. It should not be used in patients with any known allergy or foreign body sensitivities to plastic biomaterial.
The facial rejuvenation results from Instalift are far less dramatic than what you’d see from a surgical facelift, which in contrast tightens the underlying muscles and removes excess facial skin. Because of this, it is not recommended for people with severe skin laxity. For patients who want the ultimate procedure for lifting of neck, tightening of the jaw line, and even cheeks, surgical facelifts will have the most dramatic improvement and longevity.
How Long Does it Last?
A traditional facelift, the gold standard for facial rejuvenation, lasts for 10 years but requires a long recovery time and a higher cost. The results of InstaLift will evolve with aging, movement, and the effects of gravity. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 18 months. InstaLift is a more affordable and less invasive alternative to a facelift.
What is the Average Recovery?
The recovery time following the procedure is generally a day of rest followed by light activities. Icing of the area is recommended to reduce swelling. Strenuous activities can be resumed in two to three weeks. A soft or liquid diet is recommended, and care to not excessively move the face is advised for up to a week. See more post procedure care information here.
What are the Side Effects that Might Happen with this Procedure?
After placement, patients may experience a minimal acute inflammatory tissue reaction. Possible side effects of a Silhouette InstaLift procedure include skin puckering, indentations, lumps, site infection, bruising, soreness, swelling, numbness, asymmetry, and possibly, a visible suture line.
