Dr. William Doubek, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Wisconsin, has been elected to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the world’s leading professional organization devoted to cosmetic medicine of the face and body.
Oshkosh, Wisconsin (September, 2012) – Dr. William Doubek, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Wisconsin, who practices at Fox Valley Plastic Surgery (www.fvpsurgery.com), has been admitted to membership in the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).
ASAPS is a selective group of highly qualified aesthetic plastic surgeons, who represent the best in the field. Requirements for active membership include: documentation of a minimum of 75 aesthetic surgical cases during a 12-month period; 60 Category I CME credits in aesthetic surgery during the 36-month period prior to the application date; certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery; verification of accreditation of surgical facilities used by the physician; and at least two active ASAPS member sponsors.
Membership is an exclusive privilege and distinct honor for plastic surgeons such as Dr. Doubek, who have demonstrated achievement in the arena of cosmetic plastic surgery. With never-ending news reports of fake boards and desperate consumers undergoing risky procedures without regard to health or safety, membership in ASAPS is more important than ever.
Research has shown many consumers of plastic surgery in Wisconsin and elsewhere do not understand what board certification is. ASAPS continues to champion the facts, through advocacy and education.
ASAPS members are active in leadership and participation in the Aesthetic Surgery Educational and Research Foundation for directed aesthetic research. The society’s year-round public education program educates consumers about selecting a member of ASAPS for their cosmetic surgery. The program seeks to reinforce the value of ASAPS certification by emphasizing the specialized expertise in cosmetic surgery that qualifies surgeons such as Oshkosh plastic surgeon Dr. Doubek for membership.
The ASAPS (www.surgery.org), founded in 1967, is recognized as the world’s leading organization devoted entirely to aesthetic plastic surgery and cosmetic medicine of the face and body. ASAPS is made up of more than 2,600 Plastic Surgeons. Active members are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in the United States or by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have extensive training in the complete spectrum of surgical and nonsurgical aesthetic procedures. International members are certified by equivalent boards of their respective countries. All members worldwide adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and must meet stringent membership requirements.
Fox Valley Plastic Surgery has served Wisconsin patients since 1993. Its doctors specialize in cosmetic surgeries, skin care, vein care and laser services.
